The One Who Invented a Conflict That Didn’t Exist

“You guys never liked me from the start” is a sentence that was spoken about a friend group where three of the guys literally drove an hour to help her boyfriend move her stuff when they’d only met her once. The revisionist history is breathtaking. Scholars would study it.
There’s a TikTok format right now — “things she said happened vs things that actually happened” — and someone in this particular friend group made a private version with 11 slides. It has been shared to exactly four people. All four have watched it more than once.
The One Who Went After the ‘Ringleader’

Every friend group has a guy who texts first, plans everything, remembers everyone’s birthday. The glue. She identified him inside of two weeks and has been quietly chipping away ever since. Little comments. A raised eyebrow when his name comes up. Suddenly her boyfriend “doesn’t know” if he’s free that weekend.
The glue guy has noticed. He hasn’t said anything because what do you even say. He just started texting less. The hangouts dropped from every two weeks to once a month to “we should do something soon” into the abyss. The friend group has approximately one more “we should catch up” in it before it goes fully dark.
